My New Year will start off with a jolt on January 5th, a cardiac ablation that is.
With this procedure coming up it makes me reexamine the way I have been living my life up to now. Lack of exercising, unhealthy eating habits, that's been my life for longer then I choose to acknowledge. I do have to say though, that the afib (atrial fibrillation) that I've been experiencing for quite awhile now has put a damper on the exercise portion of my life. Shortness of breath, very rapid heartbeat, arm numbness, an overdose of nitro by the EMT's, heart rate of 30, angiogram, new meds, severe issues with the new meds, all part of my life for now, at least until Monday. Although I'm extremely anxious about this ablation, going into my heart with a device to zap my heart doesn't instill confidence, I know that all things considered it's the right choice to make. The new medications they have on the market today have side effects that are far worse then the symptoms I'm already having. One in particular is having an effect on my eyesight, like it's not bad enough. One of the others caused severe bleeding issues and made my blood like water with no clotting mechanism. WOW! Now there's the reason for this scary procedure on Monday. I have a great deal of people praying for me and praying for the doctor, so I'm sure all will be good.
I signed up to be a part of a facebook group that will help me succeed in my quest for a healthier life afterwards. They have already been through or are currently going through the same issues I'm having with my weight and overall health and it will be nice to have the support of people who know how it is. Exercising will not be an option for a little while but even just moving around a little will be an improvement over what I've been doing.
